KMFT annual members’ exhibition

EXHIBITIONS DEDICATED TO THE DAY OF HUNGARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY

On the Day of Photography in Romania (established by Government Decision 458/ 05.05.2010) three exhibitions of photographic art were opened at the Exhibition Centre of the International Association “Euro Foto Art” in the medieval fortress of Oradea (Hall E, ground floor). The date of birth of Carol Pop de Szathmari – the name on his baptismal certificate is Szathmári Pap Károly – (1812-1887), recognized as the first Romanian photographer and the first war photographer in the world, was chosen to mark this day.

Two other international photographic art exhibitions dedicated to Hungarian Photography Day will open later this week. In Hungary this day has been celebrated since 2003, in memory of the first daguerreotype taken at a public event on August 29, 1840 (at the eleventh general meeting of the Hungarian Society of Scientists). The exhibitions are organized by the International Association “Euro Foto Art” of Oradea (AIEFA) and Summit Agro Romania, under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), recognized by UNESCO.

The first exhibition entitled The Annual of the Members of the Hungarian Photographic Society of the Carpathian Basin (KMFT) of the Carpathian Basin Institute (Kárpát-medence Intézet) based in Segedin (HU) will be installed on the halftone of the Exhibition Center of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) Oradea-Romania, which includes 98 black and white and color photographs by photographers Ágoston Zsolt (RO), Barát Attila (SRB), Bánházi Gyöngyi (RO), Cseke Sándor (RO), Csíki János (RO), Dobán Dorina (UA), Farkas Endre (RO), Fábián Gergely (SK), Fórián Andrea (RO), Gombár Mária (HU), Guzsvány Réka (SRB), Halász Eszter Blanka (RO), Hátszegi Csaba (RO), Héjja Árpád (RO), Hős Norbert (SRB), Jusztin László (SRB), Kajtár Tibor (HU), Labancz István (RO), Lennert Géza EFIAP s (SRB), Lukács Mária (HU), Kertész Hajnalka (RO), Kovács Orsolya (RO), Mészáros Ödön (HU), Mirkov Rebeka (SRB), Moldován Mihály EFIAP s (RO), Morvay Szabó Edina AFIAP s (RO), Nótáros Melinda (RO), Ótos András (SRB), Ótos Annabella (SRB), Solyom Ernő AFIAP s (RO), Szabó Béla EFIAP s (HU), Szabó Géza (RO), Tímár Zoltán (RO), Szilágyi Barbara (RO), Tóth Melinda (RO), Tóth Tamás (RO), Udvardi Árpád EFIAP (RO), Ürge Mátyás (SK) and Varró Tódor (SRB). The opening of the exhibition will take place on August 29, 2024 at 18:00 in the “Matei Stegerean” Gallery of the EFA Oradea-Romania Exhibition Center. The public will be welcomed by the photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP AFIAP, ESFIAP, AIEFA President and KMFT Vice President, and will be presented with the Carol Pop de Szathmári – Szathmári Pap Károly trophies and plaques by the authors of the awarded photographs.

Following the festive event will be the opening of the second exhibition entitled Annual of MAFOSZ Organizations from across the border (Magyar Association of Hungarian Photo Clubs / Magyar Fotóművészeti Alkotócsoportok Országos Szövetsége), consisting of a selection of 45 photographs taken by photographers from the 9 MAFOSZ Organizations from Slovakia, Romania and Hungary. The openings will be streamed online from the Association’s facebook https://www.facebook.com/EFAExhibitionCenterOradea and KMFT: https://www.facebook.com/kmft. hu The musical moments of the opening will be provided by Thurzó Sándor József, representative of the Community and Cultural Association Sola Fide (SFKKE), who will perform several pieces from the Hungarian repertoire: Bartók Béla’s “Evening at the Secks”, Macalik Alfréd’s “Menuetto”, Bartók Béla’s “Slovak Dance”, Eszlári Erzsébet’s “Aroso” and “Fugato” and Eszlári Erzsébet’s “Piece, op. 64, No. 1” by Popper Dávid Dávid (arrangement for solo violin by the performer)

Thanks to the protocol between AIEFA and OTL SA, the exhibited photographs will also be shown on the screens of Oradea’s modern means of transportation. The exhibition will be open to the visiting public until October 06, 2024 on Mondays and Wednesdays between 14:00 – 18:00, Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays between 10:00 – 14:00. TWO OPENINGS ON THE DAY OF HUNGARIAN PHOTOGRAPHY
The “Matei Stegerean” Gallery of the EFA Exhibition Center in the Princely Palace of the Medieval Citadel of Oradea (Hall E, ground floor) hosted the opening of two international photographic art exhibitions dedicated to the Hungarian Photography Day. The exhibitions are organized by the International Association “Euro Foto Art” from Oradea (AIEFA) and Summit Agro Romania and the Hungarian Association of Photo Clubs (MAFOSZ), under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), recognized by UNESCO. The event was attended by the members of the two Romanian Photographic Organizations: Homorod, Oradea and Marghita, respectively Budapest, Debrecen and Szolnok (HU). The audience present at the event was welcomed by the photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA and curator of the exhibitions, who presented the context in which the international photographic art exhibitions are organized. Then the representative of Dr. eng. Patricia Maria Știrbu president of Summit Agro Romania, Dr. ing. Dorin Popa, president of the Association for the Culture and Civilization of Wine Millesime Oradea emphasized in his speech the important role that photographic art plays in visual communication between people. The media specialist, Stanik Istvan Stanik, the technical director Magyar Házak Hálózat (Network of Hungarian Houses), the director of “Partium” House in Debrecen (HU) and the vice-president of Kárpát medencei Magyar Fotográfiai Társaság (Society of Hungarian Photographers in the Carpathian Basin (KMFT) after the greeting message of the president of “Kárpát-medence Intézet” (Carpathian Basin Institute) based in Seghedin (HU) Dr.. Szabó Pál Csaba, appreciated the initiative of organizing this exhibition on the Hungarian Photography Day, which presents the last year’s creations of Hungarian photographers from the Carpathian Basin. At the end of the first opening, the AIEFA President and KMFT Vice President presented the trophies to Fórián Andrea from Oradea, Hátszegi Csaba from Homorod (RO) and the “Carol Pop de Szathmári – Szathmári Pap Károly” plaque to the award-winning photographers Fórián Andrea from Oradea and Hátszegi Csaba from Homorod (RO), respectively, and the “Carol Pop de Szathmári – Szathmári Pap Károly” plaque to the photographer Tímár Zoltán from Marghita (RO). The exhibition of KMFT members includes 93 photographs by artists from Serbia, Slovakia, Romania, Ukraine and Hungary.
