Stories by the stove about Asia
The International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA) and Summit Agro Romania launched again this year the cycle of digital projection evenings accompanied by unforgettable stories, prepared for photography lovers for the long fall-winter evenings. In this context the Home for the Elderly “Sfânta Elisabeta” in Olosig Park in Oradea has invited the well known photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP AFIAP, ESFIAP president AIEFA with a cycle of digital projections about his creative travels in Asia. This cycle will present his visual and vocal impressions of his 14 trips to Asia: China (9 times), Japan (4 times) and South Korea (4 times). The first screening took place on Thursday, 03.10.2024 at 11:00 a.m. during which the photographer presented the images taken in 2002, during his first visit to the city of Jiaozou, located 700 km south of Beijing. The city of Jiaozou (population about 2 million) is a prefecture-level city in northwestern Henan Province, China. located on the north bank of the Yellow River, bordering the provincial capital Zhengzhou. “I was very curious what Asia’s first country, about which so many stories have been told, would look like. I was equally curious to see how such an International Photography Festival would be organized, with 750 photographers from China and 50 photographers from the US, Europe and Asia. I was very happy when I found out that a solo exhibition of my work will be organized at the Jiaozuo County Museum, which was attended by an impressive number of photographers from all over the world. The international festival gave me the opportunity to take some exceptional photographs, which were first shown in the “Euro Foto Art” Gallery on October 5, 2002, after which the exhibition became a traveling exhibition”. At the end of the screening, the guest photographer answered questions from the participants, who were presented with a copy of his jubilee printed album entitled “Stolen Moments”. Musical moments of the screening were provided by the violinist Thurzó Sándor József, who performed several musical moments of Asian composers.
