The Week of Romanian and Hungarian Culture initiated by the curator of the International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA) offered the opportunity to open on Friday, January 19, 2024, at 17:00 at the EFA Exhibition Centre in the Medieval Fortress (E Block, ground floor) the Exhibition of Romanian and Hungarian Photographers from All Over the World with cash prizes and special prizes. The event was broadcast live on Facebook from the EFA Exhibition Centre. The exhibition is part of the 12th edition of the International Photography Festival “Carol Pop de Szathmári – Szathmári Pap Károly”, organized by AIEFA in partnership with Summit Agro Romania (SAROM), the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and Region (APTOR) and the “Nufărul” Photography Club of Oradea (CFNO). The audience present at the event, including a group of photographers from the Photoclub “Óbuda” in the capital of Hungary (photographers: Koncz Dezső, president, Ottné Német Ilona, Tóth-Piusz István and Gyimesi János) were welcomed by photographer Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA, who presented the background of the international competition, under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (UNESCO Recognised), to which the organisers received 215 outstanding images by Romanian and Hungarian photographers from Austria, France, Malta, Moldova, Serbia, Slovakia, Ukraine and Hungary. Mihok Tamás, editor of the Culture Magazine “Familia” thanked for the opportunity to participate in this international project and presented the award of the magazine to the photographer Cornelia Ursache (RO). Dénes László, editor-in-chief of the Culture Magazine “Várad”, welcomed the initiative of participating in this project and presented the prize offered by the editorial office, consisting of 12 magazines published in 2023, won by the photographer Bánfi Barnabás (HU), president of the Photo Club “Székely Aladár” from Giula – Gyula (RO). The synchronous translation services of the opening in Romanian and Hungarian were provided by the interpreter Bozódi-Nagy Orsi. At the end of the event, the prize-giving ceremony of the international competition took place. The musical moments of the opening were offered by Bacsó Ágnes, a student in the 8th grade of the Art High School of Oradea, (teacher dr. Georgiana Mircescu) who played the flute pieces “Autumn” and “Winter” by the famous composer Antoniu Vivaldi and by the representative of the Cultural Group “Duo Sola Fide” from Oradea, the violist Thurzó Sándor József, played the pieces “Melody” by Liana Alexandra, “Ave Maria” by Soós Andor, “Ce te legeni….” by George Skeletti- Enrico Mezetti” and Hungarian Dance” by Kodály Zoltán – S.Kuhlmann. The international exhibition will remain open to the public, at the EFA Exhibition Centre, Ștefan Vilidár István Gallery” in the Medieval Fortress of Oradea (Building E, ground floor), until 14 February 2023, daily from 08:00 – 20:00, to which access is free of charge. The exhibited works will also be projected on the screens of Oradea’s means of transport, thanks to the protocol concluded between AIEFA and OTL SA.
