AN EMOTIONAL VERNISSAGE ON THE INTERNATIONAL DAY OF OLDER PERSONS
Every year on October 1, the entire world celebrates the International Day of Older Persons, established by the General Assembly of the United Nations on December 14, 1990, through Resolution No. 45/106. In this spirit, the International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA), in partnership with Summit Agro România and the Muzeul Țării Crișurilor Oradea – Complex Muzeal, through the Muzeul Orașului Oradea service, and under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP), recognized by UNESCO, organized an international photographic art exhibition suggestively entitled “Beautiful Ages.”
On this occasion, 68 black-and-white and color works are exhibited, signed by senior photographic artists from several countries: Bérci Mária (HU), Paul Bock (USA), Bánházi Gyöngyi (RO), Iurie Foca (MD), Gyimesi János (HU), Hátszegi Csaba (RO), Héjja Árpád (RO), Incze Domokos (RO), Ioan Ciobotaru (RO), Koncz Dezső (HU), Masaaki Koizumi (JP), Masami Kato (JP), Mikiko Osada (JP), Morvay Szabó Edina EFIAP (RO), Nagy Lajos EFIAPp3 (RO), Novák József (HU), Gheorghe Petrila E.FIAP (RO), Felician Săteanu (RO), Scubli Mariana AFIAP (RO), Tóth-Piusz István (HU), Szabó Géza (RO), Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP and Udvardi Árpád EFIAP (RO).

The opening of the exhibition took place on Wednesday, October 1, 2025, at 17:00, at the Mezey Lajos Gallery, EFA Exhibition Center, within the Muzeul Orașului Oradea section (2nd floor).
At the beginning of the vernissage, the actress of the Teatrul Regina Maria in Oradea, Mirela Niţă Lupu, recited the poem “La Marioneta” by Johnny Welch, while the actress Kiss Törék Ildikó, representing the “Kiss” Studio, performed the poem “Szeressétek az öregeket” (“Love the Elderly”) by Óbecsei István.
Afterwards, Dr. Diana Iancu, museographer, emphasized the importance of organizing this international exhibition on the occasion of the International Day of Older Persons. The photographic artist Ștefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA, presented the context in which the international exhibition was organized and presented each actress with a bouquet of flowers.
The musical program of the vernissage was performed by the viola artist Thurzó Sándor József, member of the Sola Fide Community and Cultural Association (SFKKE), who performed the following works: “German Dance” by K. Dittetsdorf, “Waltz No. 1” by C. Almeida, “Bicinia” by Kodály Zoltán, and “Din drâmboaie” by Hilda Jerea.
The exhibition can be visited until October 28, 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday between 10:00 and 18:00, with free admission.
Through a partnership with OTL SA, the exhibited photographs will also be projected on the screens of modern public transport vehicles in Oradea, bringing photographic art closer to the traveling public.
