An Unprecedented Photography Exhibition in Oradea
This summer, Oradea will host an exceptional cultural event. The International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA), in partnership with Summit Agro Romania, offers photography enthusiasts the privilege of experiencing the work of one of the world’s most prestigious contemporary photographers. Starting June 4, 2026, the “Euro Foto Art” Gallery at the Exhibition Center of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) will feature the works of Italian master Riccardo Busi MFIAP, EFIAP/p, HonEFIAP, QPSA.
Born in 1958 in Florence, Riccardo Busi has built an impressive international career, combining his passion for photography with a solid academic background in political science, diplomacy, and international organizations. President of FIAP since 2012, following a decade as Secretary General, the Italian artist is recognized as one of the figures who have decisively shaped the evolution of global artistic photography. For over five decades, his camera lens has captured the beauty of the world in its most diverse forms: people and cultures, traditions and landscapes, sporting events, and authentic slices of life. His impressive track record includes 485 exhibitions organized in 47 countries, participation in 355 international juries, and no fewer than 98 prestigious awards. An eight-time FIAP World Champion and three-time World Runner-up, Riccardo Busi is considered today one of the most influential ambassadors of photographic art globally.
The exhibition presented in Oradea, titled “The Art of the Moment”, is an invitation to discover the world through the lens. As the artist himself explains, the photographs taken over the past six years form a visual journey spanning dozens of countries and numerous cultural worlds, offering viewers the opportunity to contemplate the extraordinary diversity of the human experience. This is not an exhibition that provides answers, but one that invites observation, reflection, and inner dialogue.
The opening will take place Tuesday, June 16, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., in the presence of the artist, at the EFA Oradea Exhibition Center – Romania, the “Matei Stegerean” Gallery, located in the Princely Palace of the Medieval Fortress of Oradea (Building E). Immediately following the official opening, the artist will present the multimedia projection “Along the Way”, hosted by the Center for Culture and Civilization of Taste in the Medieval Fortress of Oradea (Building I). Attendance at the event is by invitation only, subject to availability; requests may be sent to: [email protected]
The evening’s atmosphere will be complemented by musical moments of high artistic quality. The opening will feature performances by Oradea-based violist Thurzó Sándor József and pianist Réthi-Gáll Brigitta Éva, who will perform works by Giuseppe Verdi, Giovanni Battista Pergolesi, Achille Simonetti, and “Din drâmboaie” by Hilda Jerea. The artistic program will continue at the Center for Culture and the Civilization of Taste, where Alexandrina Chelu-Schorr and Florian Chelu-Madvea, representatives of Rock Filarmonica Oradea, will offer the audience a recital dedicated to Italian composers.
The exhibition will be open until June 26, 2026, on weekdays from 8:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with free admission. In an effort to bring art closer to the community, the works will also be displayed on screens in Oradea’s public transportation system, through a partnership between the International Association “Euro Foto Art” and OTL SA. Thus, artistic photography will accompany the city’s commuters on their daily journeys, transforming every trip into a true cultural experience. More than just an exhibition, “The Art of the Moment” promises to be a rare encounter with international artistic excellence, an event that once again confirms Oradea’s status as an important European cultural center.
