Exhibition of photographer Paul Bock (USA), entitled “Impressions from India”

Opening at the new “Mezey Lajos” gallery

On Wednesday took place at the new headquarters of the Museum of the City of Oradea the opening of a special exhibition of photographic art organized by the International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA) in partnership with the Museum “Țării Crișurilor” and the official partner Summit Agro Romania, a company belonging to the Japanese Corporation “Sumitomo”, supporter of agriculture and art. In the exhibition organized under the patronage of AIEFA and the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (recognized by UNESCO), a selection of 50 artistic photographs taken by the renowned photographer Paul Bock from Oradea, California (USA) during a trip to India in 2022 were presented. The images can also be viewed on the website of the International Association: https://eurofotoart.ro/expo-paul-bock-usa/ The public present at the event was welcomed by the representative of the Museum Dr. Cristina Pușcaș, who after appreciating the initiative of organizing this exhibition within the framework of the Saint Ladislaus Days, introduced the US photographer. In his speech, the photographer Stefan Toth AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA, emphasized that the exhibition came to Oradea after it was opened in the presence of the author last year in the Romanian Parliament Palace, during the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and India, respectively at the FIAP Exhibition Center Ujgorod – Ukraine in the Medieval Fortress of this wonderful city, respectively earlier this month at the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chinișșău (R.Moldova). “The exhibition is a cultural bridge between three continents, namely the USA where the exhibiting photographer lives, Europe where the exhibition was presented, which presents a special country located in Asia”, said the photographer from Oradea. In conclusion the manager of the St. Ladislaus Festival Zatykó Gyula thanked AIEFA for the fact that AIEFA is present at this year’s festival with two highly artistic photographic art exhibitions and for the special collaboration with AIEFA. The exhibition was installed on the “Mezey Lajos” Gallery, EFA Exhibition Center of the Museum of the City of Oradea, part of the “Țării Crișurilor” Museum. The musical moments of the opening were provided by the renowned Oradea violist Thurzó Sándor József, who performed several pieces from the Indian repertoire: “Poor Heart” by A.R. Rahman¸ “Fire in the City of Poroshmoni” by R. Tagore, “I Still Want You” by Mithoon and “Sare Jahan Se Acha” by Suhale Mazoor. The exhibited works will also be projected on the screens of Oradea’s means of transportation, thanks to the protocol between AIEFA and OTL SA.

An exciting opening at the National Museum of History of Moldova in Chisinau


The International Association “Euro Foto Art” from Oradea (AIEFA) has prepared for photography lovers from the Republic of Moldova, an exhibition of photographic art of great artistic value, entitled “Impressions from India”, which was opened last year at the Palace of Parliament in Romania, on the occasion of the 75th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Romania and India. A selection of 50 large-format photographs taken by the renowned photographer Paul Bock from the United States of America, a native of Oradea and a member of AIEFA, were installed on the easels in the entrance hall of the National Museum of History of the Republic of Moldova. The images were taken during a creative journey of the renowned photographic artist in the summer of 2022 to India. The exhibition was organized under the aegis of the International Federation of Photographic Art recognized by UNESCO and the patronage of AIEFA, in partnership with the National Museum of History of Moldova, the Embassy of India in Romania and the Republic of Moldova respectively Summit Agro Romania, a company belonging to the Japanese Corporation “Sumitomo”, a supporter of agriculture and art. The opening of the exhibition took place in the presence of a large audience on Tuesday, June 04, 2024, at 15:00, in the entrance hall of the National Museum of History of Moldova. The event was attended by distinguished guests, including the Ambassador of India to Romania, Republic of Moldova and Albania, His Excellency Rahul Shrivastava, representing the Ministry of Culture Mrs. Ana Varzari Secretary General of State, Mrs. Angela Cutașevici, Deputy Mayor of Chisinau, Natalia Gavrilița former Prime Minister of the Republic of Moldova, representative of Summit Agro Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria and Adria, Mr. Mr. Bogdan Radu, sales director and curator of the exhibition and the photographer Ștefan Tóth István, president of AFIAP, ESFIAP. The general director of the National Museum of History of Moldova, dr.hab. Eugen Savar, who appreciated the importance of organizing this photographic art exhibition in Chisinau. His Excellency Rahul Shrivastava, Ambassador of India to Romania, thanked those involved in the realization of this exhibition in the Republic of Moldova. The representative of the official partner of AIEFA Summit Agro Romania, Republic of Moldova, Bulgaria and Adria, Mr. Bogdan Radu, Sales Director, emphasized in his speech the important role of the Society in supporting agriculture and art. Photographer Stefan Tóth István Stefan Tóth István, AFIAP, ESFIAP, AIEFA President and curator of the exhibition, presented in the opening of his speech a historical picture taken on November 30, 1995 in the Museum of History in Chisinau on the occasion of the opening of the International Salon “Eurofotoart” and the exhibition of the members of the Photographic Club “Nufărul” from Oradea. He further appreciated the fact that the present exhibition is a model of a special international collaboration by presenting the exhibition of a photographer from the USA (member of an International Association from Romania), organized in partnership with the Embassy of India in Romania, by AIEFA from Romania and Sumit Agro Romania, a company belonging to the Japanese Corporation “Sumitomo” in Chisinau, Republic of Moldova. In conclusion, he handed over to the General Director of the Museum the FIAP Certificates of Auspices and AIEFA Patronage and presented the album published by Euro Foto Art publishing house with the financial support of the Embassy of India in Romania and by touring the exhibition.
