Marathon openings in Slovakia
The 13th edition of the European Photography Festival, organized by the International Association “Euro Foto Art” (AIEFA) in partnership with Summit Agro Romania, as well as the 32nd edition of Festum Varadinum offered the opportunity to organize in the EFA Oradea – Romania Exhibition Centre in the Medieval Fortress of Oradea (E Building, ground floor) three exhibitions of the works of photographers from Komárno (SK). The opening of the exhibitions took place on Saturday, 18 May 2024, at 11:00 in the Gallery “Matei Stegerean” with the participation of 13 photographers from Slovakia: Bilka Viktória, Bilka Milan, Ferenczi Évi, Holop Ferenc, Holop Mária, Kopják Angelika, Martin Kucera, Milan Uhrin, Pálfi Norbert, Piller Oszkár, Somogyvári Zsolt, Szántó László and Varga Tibor AFIAP. The event was organised under the auspices of the International Federation of Photographic Art (FIAP) recognised by UNESCO and was attended by the Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic – Salonta Mr. Miroslav Iabloncsik. The audience present at the event was welcomed by Stefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP, president of AIEFA and curator of the exhibitions, who appreciated the importance of bilateral cultural relations and the special collaboration with one of the most important partner organizations: the Photoclub “Helios” from Komárno (SK). The Honorary Consul of the Slovak Republic – Salonta, Mr. Miroslav Iabloncsik, spoke in Romanian and Slovak and after underlining the importance of the connection between Romanian and Slovak photographers, he thanked for the invitation to participate in this exceptional cultural event. The first exhibition of photographic art made up of the works of the members of the well-known Photo Club of Slovakia installed on the screens of the “Mezey Lajos” Gallery, made up of 50 black and white creations of high artistic quality, comprising several genres of photographic art: portrait, essay, applied photography, socio-photography, creative, reportage, landscape, experimental and minimalist. The photographs can also be viewed on the website of the Association: https://eurofotoart.ro/expozitia-fotoclubului-helios-komarno-sk-18-05-20-06-2024/ The opening of the exhibition of the photographer Holop Ferenc AZSF, president of the Photoclub “Helios” took place from 11:30 am in the presence of the author and his wife. The exhibiting photographer presented his opinion on the evolution of photographic art and talked about how his works were made. The 33 black and white and colour photographs were installed on the screens of the “Matei Stegerean” Gallery, which include several genres of photographic art: portrait, essay, applied photography, socio-photography, creative, folklore, landscape, experimental and minimalist, nude. The exhibited images can also be admired on the website of the International Association: https://eurofotoart.ro/expozitia-personala-holop-ferenc-azsf-sk/ The last opening of the group exhibition of photographers Ferenczi Évi and Varga Tibor AFIAP took place in the presence of the authors. At the opening Ferenczi Évi emphasized in her speech that she started photography since 2013 as a self-taught photographer and thanked for the help she received from the members of the Photoclub she belongs to as well as for the fact that she is a graduate of the online course of photographic technique and art held by photographer Stefan Tóth István AFIAP, ESFIAP. Photographer Varga Tibor AFIAP, present in the exhibition with 20 photographs representing the genres of photographic art: still life, essay, landscape, portraits and photographic graphics, pointed out that lately he is also devoted to archaic photography. The musical moments of the first and last openings were offered by the violin artist Sándor József Thurzó, representative of the Sola Fide Community and Cultural Association (SFKKE), who performed the pieces “Slovak Melody no. 12” by Lavotta János, “Lullaby” by Zeno Vancea and “Slovak Melody No. 18” by Lavotta János, respectively “Menuetto in preclassical style” by Macalik Alfréd, “Moment zglobiu” by Corneliu Torsan (solo violin performance by the performer) and “Slovak Melody No. 17” by Lavotta János. The musical moments of the second opening were offered by the artists of Rock Filarmonica Oradea: Alexandrina Chelu-Schorr, Iuliana Băican Chelu (vocals) and Florian Chelu Madeva (guitar), who performed several pieces from the Slovak and Romanian repertoire. It is to be appreciated that the photos exhibited will be shown on the screens of Oradea’s means of transport, thanks to the protocol concluded between AIEFA and OTL SA. The exhibitions organized in partnership with the Association for the Promotion of Tourism in Oradea and its Surroundings (APTOR) will remain available to the public until 20 June 2024, on Mondays and Wednesdays from 14:00 to 18:00, and on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Fridays from 10:00 to 14:00, where public access is free!
